The wild honey bee is just one of around 400 bee species found in Luxembourg, and it plays an important role in preserving the country's biodiversity.

They sometimes live in large, old trees, so it’s important that these trees are preserved in our forests and not felled.

Notably, wild honey bees are the only species in Luxembourg capable of surviving as a colony throughout the year, with each group numbering several thousand individual bees.
