Urgent parliamentary questionWill Google proceed with its planned data centre in Bissen?

RTL Today
In conversation with newspaper Tageblatt, Minister Welfring recently announced that she has not yet received a dossier outlining the water consumption of Google's planned data centre in Bissen, thus sparking questions of whether the project's deadline can can still be met.

Since Minister for the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development Joëlle Welfring recently stated in an interview that she had no concrete information on the progress of Google’s planned data centre in Bissen, MP Laurent Mosar from the Christian Social People’s Party (CSV) filed an urgent parliamentary enquiry to determine the stage in which the project currently finds itself.

As the memorandum of understanding between the US internet giant and the Luxembourgish government retains that Google has to request an official building permit by early 2024, MP Mosar wanted to know whether the Ministry for the Environment is able to process all the necessary details in the span of a year. He further wanted to know if the Ministry is still in contact with Google officials to discuss the implementation of their project.
