Following a parliamentary question by CSV MP Léon Gloden, Minister for Mobility François Bausch explained that Luxembourg's roads and bridges department (ponts et chaussées) were currently debating the same question.

These parking facilities would facilitate carpooling and make bus transfers more convenient. This will for example be the case for the Mesenich Park & Ride in Wasserbillig. The parking facilities in this location will most likely be expanded significantly - from 250 to more than 1,700 parking spaces.

Officials are also currently investigating whether a similar project could be brought to life on the A13 motorway near Dudelange. The motorway will be widened from two to three lanes in both directions, making it a strategically excellent location for a Park & Ride.

Our neighbouring countries may follow suit and also develop similar facilities. Luxembourg would contribute €10 million to the construction of the parking lots along the A13 motorway in France. In Belgium, the parking of Stockem is another alternative awaited by Luxembourg's government.
