On Sunday, police were alerted to a woman who had stolen a dog figurine from a petrol station in Mertzig. According to initial reports, the passenger of a vehicle took the decorative figurine after the driver had filled up with petrol and paid.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect had also stolen two handbags.
The woman was apprehended shortly afterwards. The stolen items were returned to the rightful owner and a report was filed on the orders of the public prosecutor.
