Link won the title of junior world champion in fencing on two occasions, followed by a participation in the Olympic Games in Rome.
Apart from his athletic success, Link completed an economics degree and led the family business Café Link, which was relocated to Kehlen under his guidance. He was the son of former COSL president Prosper Link.
