Barely three minutes in and Maxime Chanot was already seeing red in a game on Sunday. As the slow motion shows, the Columbus FC striker fell as he was about to try and score. Commentators described the contact as a little clip on the ankle, but the referee was certain what he saw.
Chanot was handed a red card and sent straight to the changing rooms. The player being sent off certainly didn’t help his team, who lost 1-0 to their opponents.
