This turned out to be short-lived, however, as they fell to a 36-7 defeat against Czechia in their first match of the Rugby Europe Conference 1 North 2019/20 campaign at the Stade Josy Barthel.
The result leaves Luxembourg in 62nd place in the world rankings, one place below Israel, and one higher than the United Arab Emirates.
