Issues included access to sport buildings, training offers for people with disabilities, as well as exclusion for financial reasons.

MP Claude Lamberty (Democratic Party) also commented: “Inclusivity means giving people a chance to actively participate in our societal life. We would not be here today if this was already the case.”

Another important point of discussion was a growing lack of volunteers, who are critical for the everyday operations of sports clubs. Minister Kersch commented: “In our relaunch plan, we reemphasise the importance of volunteers. Without them, there is no sport.”

A respective campaign is thus set to be launched, which will see a revision of leave from work for sports reasons, as well as the introduction of a sport coordinator on municipal level.
