Having ventured three hours down to Heusenstamm, the boys outlined their desire to get a win and get points in the league table.
Forgiving the rugby cliché the game was a tale of two halves. The HT score of 26-10 reflected both Heusenstamm’s pressure and RCL’s inability to exit their 22m.
The second half was a different story however, with a try shortly following the restart bringing the game to 26-17.
MOTM Alex Brausch produced the goods for his first of a brace of tries to bring scores relatively more level at 26-24 with 25 minutes to go.
Six minutes later RCL clinched the lead with another converted score, for 26-31 and with Brausch dotting down his second with 5 minutes to go it stood 26-36 and RCL epapered home and dry.
It was a tense last few minutes though as Heusenstamm managed to add a try to get a losing bonus point leaving it 31-36 at the final whistle.
