The 2025 figures from the camping sector represent a 50% increase compared to 2019, before the data was affected by the pandemic restrictions in 2020 and beyond.
The sector has recovered well from the coronavirus crisis. In 2025, Luxembourg's campsites registered close to 1.3 million overnight stays, nearly 30% more than in 2019. Tourism minister Lex Delles said this reinforced the attractiveness of Luxembourg's camping areas, which are no longer a niche sector, but a driving force behind the country's tourism.
Delles made the comments during a visit to the CARAVAN trade fair in Düsseldorf recently, which draws around 260,000 visitors a year. The Grand Duchy was not only represented by the minister, but also by a stand at the fair, exhibiting evidence of the country's tourist attractions and activities on offer, such as hiking, cycling, camping and caravanning.
