The results are in. As part of the regular Sonndesfro – Sunday poll – the Luxembourg public has voted on whether or not they are in favour of the government convening tripartite talks.

Conducted by the Luxembourg Institute for Social Research and Market Studies (ILRES) on behalf of RTL and the Luxemburger Wort, the Sunday poll is a recurring survey that gauges public opinion on key political issues.

Overwhelming majority

According to the latest Sunday poll, 83% of respondents are in favour of convening a tripartite meeting. Notably, the poll was carried out before PM Luc Frieden had announced the tripartite to bring the social partners together.

The survey questioned 1,863 eligible voters between 13 and 24 April.

The poll also contains a number of surprises on other political issues, which will be revealed on Tuesday at 5pm on RTL Radio and RTL. The full analysis, including which parties people would vote for if elections were held on Sunday, will be broadcast at 7.30pm during RTL's Journal evening news round.
