According to the ACL, the accident occurred between the access road for Livange and the Croix de Bettembourg. One lane is blocked and an extensive bottleneck has formed up to the Croix de Gasperich and part of the A1 from Kirchberg.
By 4.30pm, the traffic was held up by nearly 12 kilometres. The number of vehicles involved remains unknown.
