Hospital congress in KirchbergAdvantages of minimally-invasive surgery in ambulant treatments

Lynn Cruchten
The hospital congress took place in Kirchberg earlier on Saturday. It revolved around questions of technology in the health sector and how a patient's hospital stay can be improved.

230 professionals from across the Greater Region took part in the conference.

Robot surgery was one of the key points that were discussed. The advantages of mini-invasive robot surgery in ambulant treatments are undeniable: a more precise surgery entails less inflammation, blood loss and post-op pain, and allows for a quicker recovery.

The Robert Schuman Hospitals highlight the importance of offering a personalised medical care before, during, and after a surgical intervention. Patients are informed of procedures in detail prior to having surgery and there is a support system available. Ideally, one can leave the hospital on foot just hours after having had surgery.
