For the years 2017 and 2018, 9,500 files remain to be processed.
These files consist of declarations that have not yet been filed and declarations that have been submitted very late. Some files are also under investigation.
In 35,000 cases per year, a tax liability of more than €50,000 is incurred.
It is possible to submit a reasoned request for a new payment deadline. Between 2017 and 2021, 17,000 requests were approved.
These figures on tax debts to the Tax Administration were provided by Minister of Finance Yuriko Backes in response to a parliamentary question by MP Sven Clement from the Pirate Party.
