The Association of Doctors and Dentists (AMMD) expressed criticism towards the draft bill on new outpatient clinics, despite welcoming the fact that something had finally been presented. President Chris Roller told RTL there were many questions left unanswered.
The AMMD primarily felt the bill was too complicated and lacked clarity on many points, such as financing or co-determination. They imagined outpatient care to be very different, whereas the bill envisaged everything to be regulated by the hospitals.
As for the agreement with the National Health Fund (CNS), this is still at the mediation stage.
The new outpatient centres, which will be affiliated with a hospital through accreditation, will in future be able to perform minor eye and skin procedures and also take care of dialysis and cancer patients.
