An article in the Luxemburger Wort cites three anonymous former colleagues of the company RSS Hydro who confirm that there was political pressure to dismiss the hydrologist after his criticism of flood management on RTL last year - specifically, from the government and Dudelange mayor Dan Biancalena, and the LSAP.

Despite statements from the Minister of State and a parliamentary question, the CSV sees indications that the government intervened in this case. The opposition party is requesting that the Minister for the Economy Franz Fayot explain himself before the Chamber of Deputies.

Fayot responded to the allegations on Twitter on Wednesday morning, stating he had never intervened or put pressure on aanyone to dismiss the researcher. He said he did not know da Costa personally and does not remember ever having contact with him.
