The perpetrator grabbed her bag before fleeing in direction of the shopping centre. Police managed to apprehend the thief on the intersection of Rue du Nord and Rue Victor Hugo, and the stolen bag was found at the culprit's mother's house. The cash in the bag however, was gone.
The man was arrested and seen by the examining magistrate on Monday morning.
Despite being knocked to the ground during the assault, the elderly pensioner suffered no major injuries.
