Accident and fire simulationEmergency services conduct test operation in Micheville tunnel
On Sunday morning, the Micheville tunnel was closed in both directions to make room for a joint emergency test operation of the Bridges and Roads Authority and the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).
The government mandates that emergency services conduct test operations on a regular basis. The Micheville tunnel was thus shut for traffic from 7am to 1pm on Sunday.
The Grand Ducal police were also present at the scene to monitor the test operation, which saw emergency services simulate an accident and a fire inside the tunnel.

French emergency service members from Meurthe-et-Moselle were also present to observe the exercise. Luxembourg and France recently signed an agreement to ensure mutual assistance in emergency situations, which is why the teams from both countries need to familiarise themselves with their counterparts.
