Between 10pm on Friday and 6am on Saturday, police were called approximately 35 times in response to disputes and noise complaints. In most cases, the situation had either resolved itself by the time officers arrived or was quickly settled by police intervention.

However, this was not the case for an altercation at the tram stop on Boulevard Royal in Luxembourg City. One individual, described by police as inebriated and aggressive, was fined and placed in custody following a medical check-up.

Shortly afterwards, an argument in a bar on Rue Sigefroi escalated. When officers arrived at the scene, one of those involved resisted a check and provoked the police. This individual was also inebriated and was detained in custody after a medical check-up.

Earlier on Friday, at around 6pm, police were called to an apartment building in Clervaux due to a neighbourly dispute. An individual was threatening a neighbouring family with a knife and making death threats, while also claiming to have a firearm in their home.

When officers arrived, they located the individual in question. As police attempted to carry out their duties, the person again threatened the neighbouring family and brandished a kitchen knife. Officers were able to seize the weapon and immobilised the individual before taking them to the police station.

The public prosecutor’s office ordered the individual’s arrest as well as a search of their flat. The person appeared before an examining magistrate on Saturday morning.
