From Luxembourg to MarrakeshLuxembourg students Enzo and Hugo embark on 4L Trophy journey

Two young Luxembourg residents are set to start the biggest event for under-28s: the 4L Trophy.

The friends met at the Lycée Vauban but their paths diverged when they began higher education. A year ago, they decided to participate in the 4L Trophy, a humanitarian trophy for those aged between 18 and 28. With four months to go, preparations are underway for their adventure.

After purchasing a Renault 4L in the Vosges, Enzo underwent a mechanic's apprenticeship, before the two young men went about searching for sponsors to finance the project.

Enzo explained they had around 50% of the budget, but were officially participating in the race under the number 1129.

The race is known for its charitable aspect and its "racing" cars than for its thrills and for good reason: each team travels with school supplies, medical equipment, clothing and information in order to benefit 20,000 children in the Errachidia Province.

Then the 4L Trophy is also known for its atmosphere, its beautiful landscapes and the close bonds which are forged between participants during the orienteering race.

Enzo said he was impatient to begin the experience, describing their route to Biarritz, where the race will start, ending in Marrakech 12 days later.

But before that, the two Luxembourg residents will have to traverse the desert, the sand and the inevitable technical glitches. However, these prospects have not overwhelmed them - the racers work in solidarity and mutual aid, with assistance on the spot.

The race is scheduled to begin on 20 February 2020. Enzo and Hugo will leave Luxembourg for Biarritz and will travel more than 6,000 kilometers aboard the mythical 4L vehicle.
