As part of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, Luxembourg will contribute with 58 ventilators. Other EU member states have contributed tens of thousands of litres of oxygen per week, as well as generators and anti-viral drugs.

India's infrastructure is buckling, with an acute shortage of oxygen, antiviral drugs and hospital equipment. More than 40 countries have committed to sending medical aid to India, with a US Super Galaxy military transporter carrying more than 400 oxygen cylinders, other hospital equipment and nearly one million rapid coronavirus tests arriving in New Delhi on Friday.
