Friday's portion of the trial concluded with the above sentiment of frustration towards the two defendants on trial for double homicide in Schléiwenhaff and at the Fräiheetsbam in November 2016. Although the fourth week in court has now come to an end, the trial will continue after an 11 day break.
The main defendant's deposition concluded on Friday morning, but this session did not bring forth many more answers than Thursday's session.
The main defendant excused his attitude in court by claiming he was under pressure to defend himself, after the court's president warned him against getting worked up. He also claimed he had never said the second defendant was responsible for the second murder, instead professing that he simply did not know what the second man had done with his car on the day of the murder, suggesting it could have been lent to someone else. He maintained the second defendant had asked to borrow his car on the day of the second victim's death, in order to collect a friend from the airport. He concluded by saying he had reluctantly allowed the use of his car and had not been involved with the murder.
The prosecutor seemed to think it was clear the defendant was involved, due to the use of his vehicle and his weapon in both murders. The defendant took umbrage at this, claiming again that he had not been present for the second murder, to which the prosecutor countered that the defendant had previously given information regarding the murder which had not been known at the time. The defendant denied this.
The prosecutor concluded by asking why the victims had been killed, to which the defendant replied he did not know about the second victim, but that in the first case, the drug dealer and the second defendant had argued, which then led to the latter shooting the first victim.
The trial will continue on Tuesday 19 November.
