During her testimony, the main defendant's mother told the court:"I just want the truth to come out! I called the police and I'm testifying!" However, the prosecutor's conclusion complicated the entire situation. According to the prosecutor, the mother's version of events given in court differed to what she had told the police, meaning she effectively gave her son an alibi for the second murder. This was not the case prior to the trial.

Continuing his analysis, the prosecutor wondered where the new versions of events originated from. The mother had now confused matters, whether intentionally or not, which consequently meant her deposition must be subject to doubts and questioning. The entire afternoon, she did not even mention the victims and seemed to lack the most crucial information. Broadly, the mother's testimony went in all kinds of directions. After the woman reiterated her desire to tell the truth, the prosecutor disagreed and highlighted her performance had not provided any specific clarity.

The court at large especially took issue with the mother's statement that the second defendant had told a fellow prisoner that a judge had been paid off €50,000 to ensure he would get out of a hard sentence. The presiding judge highlighted the bad taste of the statement, telling the woman: "I would be more cautious when speaking under oath!" The prosecutor also reiterated the statement as being an especially serious accusation.

As the woman told the court on Wednesday, she had experienced a bad feeling as a mother when she saw the photograph of the Leudelange (Schlewenshof) forest in the newspaper. She had heard a lot of calamity around the house, and had been keeping tally of how long the 'misery of her son taking drugs' had been going on. Whilst the main investigator previously testified that the main defendant had a financial motive due to his incurred debts, the mother reckoned he did not have massive financial issues.

Where her testimony contradicted her earlier deposition is when she maintained her son had been at home during the night of the second murder. At this point, the judge noted that this statement contradicted a number of prior statements, including her own. The mother had previously stated that she had seen broken car windows and bloody clothes in the car, which led her to call the police.

The mother also found it unjust that the second defendant had only been taken into custody days after her son had been arrested. The prosecutor dismissed this claim, sharply pointing out that it was "above all unjust that two people lost their lives!"

The trial continues on Thursday afternoon.
