
The police stopped 617 motorists in Ettelbruck and Ingeldorf and asked each of them to take a breathalyser test.
Five tested positive and in two cases, the police issued a penalty notice. However, no driving licence had to be withdrawn due to exceeding the permitted limit.
At around 7pm on Thursday evening, a driver in Kehlen lost control over their vehicle and crashed first into a lamp post and then into a parked car. The driver turned out to be inebriated and had to hand over their licence.
At around 3am on Friday morning, a police patrol on the N7 near Fridhaff noticed a car with a damaged passenger side that was driving without its lights on towards northern Luxembourg. The driver was intoxicated, and their licence was withdrawn.
Another driver was pulled over on Boulevard de la Fraternité in Luxembourg City at around 4am on Friday morning. Once again, the breathalyser test came back positive, and the driver was forced to hand over their driving licence to the police.
