A car was set on fire in Mondorf-les-Bains overnight on Wednesday, while the owner was attacked by two unknown aggressors.

The incident occurred at 4am on Thursday morning, when a car in the John Grün stadium car park was set on fire. According to police, the car's owner was attacked in the car park by two men, who seized his car keys, wallet and mobile phone.

The victim was able to walk home and contact the police, however, his car was later discovered burnt out after being set on fire that night. The prosecutor launched an investigation and police are appealing for witnesses to help find the perpetrators.

Police description of the two assailants:

  • First male: light skinned, stout and muscular stature, spoke French but understood Luxembourgish. Very short shaved hair, 1,70 metres tall, stubbled face, wore a white tank top.
  • Second male: light skinned, 1,75 metres tall, slim stature, wearing jumper and jeans, neat appearance.
