Launched in May 2026 by Martin Stoz, Luxcov is a carpooling platform designed specifically for cross-border commuters travelling from Belgium, France, and Germany to Luxembourg for work. What sets Luxcov apart is its focus on daily commutes rather than occasional trips, and the service is entirely free for private users. The platform enables commuters to find and coordinate regular rides to and from their workplaces, helping to reduce both travel costs and environmental impact.

The idea for Luxcov emerged in March, when rising tensions in the Middle East and uncertainty over fuel prices prompted Stoz to consider ways to help commuters save money. Recognising the daily travel challenges faced by cross-border workers, he saw an opportunity to facilitate carpooling as a practical solution.

Although Luxcov is still in its early stages, the founder is pleased with the initial uptake. The platform currently counts around 100 users and offers approximately 25 regular routes. Stoz acknowledges, however, that its long-term success will depend on the volume of available routes, as it makes users more likely to find a match that suits them.

Ensuring that Luxcov remains free for individuals is a top priority for Stoz. Users who offer a ride can agree on a small contribution outside the platform itself. Luxcov does not take a commission or profit from the trips arranged through its service.

In addition to its individual offering, Luxcov provides a business plan for companies seeking to promote carpooling among their employees. This version allows firms to monitor shared kilometres and the resulting reduction in CO₂ emissions, making it easier for employers to encourage sustainable commuting habits.

Looking ahead, Stoz hopes that more commuters will discover Luxcov and that the platform will become an established, practical alternative for daily travel in the years to come.
