Supply chain disruptions, high material, energy and labour costs, plus absences due to Covid are all putting pressure on the sector. Due to high fluctuations, many developers are unable to give their customers reliable quotas.

The Federation of Craftsmen warned against measures that would add further difficulties, to a sector that is already in crisis. The idea of labour Minister George Engel to introduce reduced hours was rejected as counter-productive.

The tripartite agreement found approval on the other hand, as it offers some security.

Current government policy is mainly focused on making it harder to allocate labour, with more and more days and times off being added. The Federation would prefer if the organisation of labour was left to the employers.
