One person was injured in the process. Emergency services from Luxembourg City and Hesperange were at the scene.
At 9.30pm, a tree in Avenue Marie-Thérèse in the capital was struck by lightening. The subsequent fire that broke out had to be extinguished by firefighters.
Smoke was also reported in a residential building in Grevenmacher. Firefighters from Mertert were called to the scene for assistance. Nobody was injured during the incident.
