Petition author Michèle Senninger argues that increased leave time allows mothers to nurse their children for a longer amount of time, which is also recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO). Senninger enlisted Sweden and Germany as exemplary countries with extended leave periods.
The document has already been signed 4,900 times and will remain open for another eleven days.
