Luxembourg CityPlace Guillaume II to receive renovation worth 28.6 million euros

The Tageblatt reported the City of Luxembourg council unanimously voted in favour of a 28.6 million euro renovation for Place Guillaume II.

The current grey granite paving stones will be replaced with lighter slabs, produced in China.

Seven more trees will be planted around the square, bringing the total to 16.

The playground will be enlarged and water fountains will be installed around the eponymous statue.

Gabriel Boisante was also sworn in as Marc Angel's successor as LSAP councillor in Monday's meeting.
