Police report that officers were forced to deal with two violent individuals in Pétange, while also encountering three drink drivers on Saturday.

At 5am on Saturday, security guards in Pétange alerted the police to a man who drew a knife during a fight.

Once officers arrived at the scene, they were quickly able to disarm and immobilise the man. Police were also forced to detain a second individual after he tried hiding a knuckleduster. Although the man resisted the arrest, officers were able to immobilise him with the help of the security guards.

Both men continued resisting and insulting the police, and officers were only able to arrest them after police backup had arrived.

The prosecutor’s office charged both individuals with insurgence and possession of illegal weapons.

Drink drivers

Around 9pm on Friday, police revoked someone’s license for drink driving between Born and Tuntange.

Another drunk motorist was awarded a provisional driving ban after police caught them on Route de Longwy in Pétange.

A third drink driver had their license revoked after being stopped between Luxembourg City and Beggen.

Accidents

A cyclist was hit and injured by a car between Kautenbach and Nocher on Saturday.

A motorcyclist suffered a fall in Leudelange-Gare and was also injured in the process.
