The first incident in Wiltz occurred after officers noticed a car parked at a bus stop with its engine still running. The driver, fast asleep in his seat, was suspected of having consumed too much alcohol - which was confirmed after two tests and a positive drug test. After refusing further investigation, the man had to hand in his drivers’ licence and a report was drawn up against him. In Echternach and in Côte d’Eich in the city, police officers became aware of drunk drivers because of their driving style. In Echternach, the car had driven into a one-way street and in the city, a right of way had been ignored. Both drivers lost their driving licences.

The police were called into service again near Rocade in Luxembourg City, this time because of a vehicle travelled at alarming speed through a tunnel. During the police check, it was concluded that the driver did no longer possess a license, nor did he have his insurance and registration papers in order. On top of that, the driver had consumed too much. On order of the judiciary, his vehicle was confiscated and a report was drawn up against him.

A final drunk driver was caught in Belvaux, this time during a normal police check.
