On Monday evening, a police patrol noticed a group behaving suspiciously at a cemetery in Esch. As officers approached, one man attempted to discard a small bag, which was later found to contain drugs.
Following a search, police discovered additional narcotics and a sum of cash on the suspect. Acting on instructions from the public prosecutor’s office, officers seized the drugs, the cash, and a mobile phone.
In a separate incident in Dudelange at around 1.40am on Tuesday, police became aware of two men lingering in a car park on Avenue Grande-Duchesse Charlotte. During a search of a vehicle on the premises, officers found a bag containing drugs, packaging materials, and a set of scales.
Further investigations indicated that the bag belonged to one of the men. As in the first case, drugs and related items were seized at the request of the public prosecutor’s office. One of the suspects, found to be intoxicated, was placed in a holding cell. Police say investigations are ongoing.
