Police will namely weigh the campervans to make sure that the motorhomes are not overweight. This free service will be offered in Bertrange between 12 and 6pm on 10 July.

Prospective travellers will also be able to ask for advice about securing loads, on tires, vehicle documents, and other questions they may have.

Some tips before you hit the road:

• Have your tires checked and make sure your lights are working properly;
• Make sure your vehicle is not overweight (the free check comes in hand here);
• Close all cupboards as well as internal and external doors. Don't leave objects on the floor;
• Lock the door of the refrigerator door;
• Turn off the water pump.
