On Thursday morning, a number of signs were spotted in the Grünewald and Kirchberg districts of the capital, renaming streets with messages such as “Ouni Impfpflicht Strooss” - “Street without vaccine mandate”, to paraphrase.

The messages are said to hail from a “citizens movement” in response to the mooted vaccine mandate, which is yet to be adopted by Luxembourg’s government despite receiving support from a majority of parties. The measure has been perceived as radical, particularly among anti-restriction groups.

The stickers were also found on road signs around the Hôpitaux Robert Schuman buildings. The hospital currently is treating 26 Covid patients, with four in intensive care due to the virus.
