Over the course of the day, the police received two reports of people that had their wallets unknowingly removed from their bags. Another person had their purse stolen while sitting on a terrace in the capital, while yet another person’s phone suffered the same fate on a terrace in the Gare district.

In each case, the victims only noticed the theft once it was already too late.

Drink drivers

Police also had to deal with several drink drivers overnight.

At 9.30pm on Saturday, officers were alerted to a reckless motorist in the area of Colmar-Berg. Soon after, they managed to stop the driver, whose alcohol test came back positive. Officers removed the driving license at the scene and issued a fine.

The police were forced to revoke the licenses of three further drivers overnight, which took place on the A4 motorway, in Helmsange, and on the A7 motorway near Lorentzweiler.
