One person suffered knife injuries after a fight broke out in a residence on Rue de Hussigny, Differdange. The perpetrator fled the scene, but was arrested later on Thursday night and brought before magistrates on Friday. It transpired that the man had been reported to law enforcement previously due to an open prison sentence.
In Dudelange, a young woman was assaulted by an acquaintance at her home early on Thursday afternoon. The perpetrator later turned themselves in to the police and confessed to having beaten and injured the victim. He was arrested following questioning and will face magistrates on Friday.
Police mounted a large-scale operation in conjunction with border control agents on Thursday afternoon, targeting Rodange train station. 32 officers from the south-west region were accompanied by 12 agents of the judicial police, two customs officers, and two sniffer dogs were deployed for the operation.
Six drug dealers were caught in the act and arrested by order of the public prosecutor. Searches revealed drugs and other relevant items among their possessions. They will now face investigating magistrates.
