At around 3pm on Thursday, a woman gave birth on the street in the Nonnewisen neighbourhood. By the time the ambulance arrived, the baby had already been born.
Both mother and child were subsequently taken to hospital. No further details were provided by the Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS).
This is not the first time such an event has occurred in Luxembourg. Three years ago, a woman experienced a similar situation at the Schueberfouer, suddenly giving birth on Glacis in Luxembourg City on a Saturday evening.
In that case, too, the baby was delivered without any medical assistance.
