Current figures suggest that 2019 is due to be a record year for registering new cars in Luxembourg.

In October alone, there were 4,891 new registrations, a 13.8% increase compared to the previous October according to the Quotidien.

The same trend was observed in September, with car registrations up 27.4% compared to the previous year. So far in the year, the 47,929 new vehicles registered in Luxembourg make up a 2.7% increase compared to this time last year.

Luxembourgers appear to be particularly fond of German brands, expressing a preference for Volkswagen vehicles, followed by Mercedes, Audi, and BMW. Luxury brands are also rising in popularity: this year, 373 Tesla vehicles were registered, marking a 411% increase to 2018. 65 Ferraris and 55 Lamborghinis were also registered this year.

FEDAMO, the federation of automobile distributors in Luxembourg, confirmed on Tuesday that it would hold its annual Autofestival from 25 January 2020 to 5 February 2020.

More than ever, next year's edition will present more models with low emissions, such as hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicles.
