
5.7% of the world's population suffer from diabetes, with the number of patients now four times as high as in the 80s.
To mark World Diabetes Day, many places are seeking to raise awareness of the illness.
The Hopitaux Robert Schumann have organised an information stand in the Route d'Arlon shopping centre in Bertrange on Thursday, running from 11am to 3pm. Among other things, they will offer a variety of workshops to inform the public of prevention strategies, as well as providing other useful information.
The Centre Hospitalier du Nord will encourage the public to join them on Thursday from 1pm to 5pm for an information and awareness event, where visitors can be tested for diabetes and if necessary inform themselves of treatment.
