According to a new media consumption study in Luxembourg, RTL Luxembourg reaches 337,600 people every day across its three platforms – radio, television, and its websites in Luxembourgish, French, and English. This corresponds to a daily reach of 59.5% of the population aged 16 and over.
Over the course of a full week, the figure rises even further: around 453,200 people come into contact with the RTL brand over the course of seven days, representing 79.9% of residents aged 16+. Compared to the previous media consumption study in Luxembourg, RTL's daily and weekly reach remain stable at a high level (-0.2 and +0.2%, respectively).
Radio Luxembourg remains by far the leading radio station in the country, with 166,000 daily listeners and 278,300 weekly listeners. This corresponds to 29.3% and 49.1% of the population (16+), respectively. Over a week, RTL Radio reaches roughly half of the entire population.
In second place is Eldoradio, with just over 92,400 listeners daily reach (16%) and 192,700 listeners (34%) weekly. RTL Radio 93.3 & 97.0, also part of the RTL family and better known as 'Deutschlands Hit-Radio', reaches 39,800 listeners (7%) daily and 94,000 (16.6%) weekly.

Télé Lëtzebuerg also remains Luxembourg's most-watched TV channel, with a clear lead over France's TF1 and Germany's ARD and ZDF (between 9.2% and 8.0%), followed by France 2, M6, and RTL Television (between 4.8% and 4.7%). Télé Lëtzebuerg has seen a slight increase, reaching 114,700 viewers daily (20.2%) and 224,300 viewers weekly (39.6%).

These figures can be exceeded during special programming, such as live sports broadcasts. For example, the recent Champions League semi-final second leg between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid attracted around 123,100 viewers on TV (broadcast exclusively on RTL Zwee for legal reasons), with an additional digital audience of around 25,000 streaming via RTL Play.
These figures are not included in the TRAIL study and were compiled separately after the match.
Online, RTL Luxembourg reaches the most people through its three sites: RTL.lu (Luxembourgish), Infos.RTL.lu (French), and Today.RTL.lu (English). Online, RTL reaches 238,300 daily users (42.0%) and 370,600 weekly ones (65.4%).
In total, RTL Luxembourg reaches 337,600 people daily and 453,200 weekly among those aged 16 and over. For that, we thank our audience, their trust is what fuels our motivation to inform and entertain them as well as possible every day. We are pleased and thankful to learn that we continue having success with our programmes and platforms.

The TRAIL study – derived from 'TV & Radio Audience in Luxembourg' – was conducted by Ilres on behalf of IP Luxembourg. The published TRAIL 2026-1 results are based on 5,708 interviews, including 1,794 by phone and 3,914 online.
In the first wave, 3,620 interviews were conducted between 4 February and 24 June 2025; in the second wave, 2,088 interviews took place between 30 September 2025 and 11 February 2026. Some online participants were part of the eDiary system, with a total of 13,184 individual days of media consumption evaluated.
Further details on audiences in Luxembourg, including cinema and non-RTL media, can be found on the IP Luxembourg website, along with a PDF presentation of the survey. The marketing platform ADADA also covers the latest figures.
Some time ago, the University of Luxembourg also examined media consumption in Luxembourg. There too, RTL came out on top. Read our article here on the Medialux 2024 study, which is based on 2023 data and was presented last year.
