The accident left three people injured.

Firefighters and ambulances responded to the incident, alongside two emergency responders from the City and Ettelbruck.

The full frontal collision occurred between two cars at the point where the A7 and B7 roads converge. The driver and passenger of the car coming from the A7 north both suffered serious injuries and had to be cut out from their vehicle.

The driver of the car coming off the B7 onto the A7 was also trapped in his car, and was brought to hospital with injuries.

The A7 motorway was closed off between Ettelbruck and Schieren in both directions, but has reopened in the direction of the capital as of 8am. Authorities will close the road again at 10am with traffic redirected along the N7, to allow for the road to be fully cleared.
