According to information from the Motorway Traffic Control and Information Service (CITA), the accident occurred near the Raemerich roundabout, in the direction of Luxembourg City. Three vehicles were involved.
In the direction of Esch-sur-Alzette, the accident caused traffic jams from Foetz to the roundabout. CITA has also reported an additional accident on the same route, near Pontpierre.
Access to the motorway was reopened to traffic shortly after 3pm. A diversion had been put in place, but all other nearby roads were also saturated.
