The 137-metre bridge has lanes in both directions and includes space in the middle for tram tracks, envisioning the tram's extension to Kockelscheuer in two years' time.
Motorists used to travelling towards Kockelscheuer or Leudelange via Route d'Esch will now have to follow the new bridge from the Ban de Gasperich as the old bridge has been closed.
