After five yearsBritish Ambassador John Marshall shares farewell message

RTL Today
Grand Duke Henri received the Ambassador for his Farewell Audience on Monday morning, also sharing a goodbye message on the Embassy's Facebook Page.

John Marshall, who represented the United Kingdom in the Grand Duchy for the last five years, has experienced an eventful time, "dominated by the consequences of the British public’s decision to leave the EU on 23 June 2016 and more recently by the Covid 19 pandemic."

Since Brexit, the Ambassador has been involved in guaranteeing the rights of UK Nationals legally residing in Luxembourg and to help to them continue to live, work and study here. He has been a frequent guest on RTL Today, speaking to Lisa Burke in her weekly podcast and even writing an original column called "#LuxUKLinks",  in which he explores the historical and contemporary links between the UK and Luxembourg.

"My work here has been made easier by the kindness, openness and pragmatism of so many people in Luxembourg, whether in business, public institutions or wider society and I would like to thank everyone with whom I and the Embassy have engaged for their assistance, their engagement and their support", writes Marshall.

Ms Fleur Thomas has been appointed Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in succession to Mr John Marshall.

RTL Today would like to thank the Ambassador for his commitment and contributions.
