Organisers of the Pétange Cavalcade considered the event a real success. Aside from the excellent Spring weather, the group’s preparation work was rewarded by a big audience.
Eleven bands, 19 folklore groups, and 30 wagons made up the procession. A total of 1,400 people made their way across the five-kilometre stretch in Pétange, and a staggering six tonnes of candy were distributed over the course of only three hours.
Even though carnival festivities are known to help people take their minds off serious matters, there were also activists drawing attention to the war in Ukraine. They expressed gratitude for all the support the country has already received.
