For a second time in four years, an MP from LSAP will take on the responsibility. MP François Benoy (the Greens) was the official reporter in 2020, and MP Yves Cruchten (LSAP) in 2019.
The 2022 budget is expected to be presented in Autumn this year, with a particular focus on increased social justice. Biancalana commented: "The new budget will certainly be challenging, given that both 2020 and 2021 have been impacted by the pandemic. It is now important to plan ahead for a time after the crisis."
The politician further noted that the new budget will also remain affected by the ongoing pandemic.
