
Only four people per table and doors closed at 11 pm: How are restaurants and cafés dealing with the recently announced measures? Most of them adapt, mainly also to continue to offer their customers a safe environment.
In one of the capital's hotels, which also features a restaurant and a bar, the new restrictions become apparent as the staff members install bigger tables and cancel banquets.
During the months following the lockdown, the hotel's turn over dropped between 35 and 50%. The new safety measures are also expensive with the hotel spending an additional €3,000 to €4,000 per month.

Horesca president Alain Rix stated that talks with the government went well, but there was still room for improvement. It should be easier to distribute the aids, and establishments should be able to request partial unemployment retroactively.
While MPs still need to vote on the new law, the Horesca sector tries to be as cooperative as possible. Most places have already put the new measures in place, hoping that they can keep their businesses open.
