Pierre Peters has now been sentenced to a year in prison following multiple convictions of incitement to hatred.

According to the Luxemburger Wort newspaper, the court ruled against a suspended sentence due to Peters’ prior convictions.

The public prosecutor’s office initially requested a prison sentence of three years, according to reports.

Peters will now have to serve a 12 month sentence, as well as pay a fine of €2,000. All parties will have 40 days to lodge an appeal.
