From 8pm on Sunday to 1.30am on Monday, police carried out routine alcohol checks on the RN10 between Bettel and Reisdorf and on the RN17 between Gilsdorf and Diekirch. They stopped a total of 394 motorists, out of whom ten tested positive.
Police thus issued six fines, four verbal warnings, and revoked five licenses.
At 10pm on Sunday, police were also alerted to a drink driver in Keispelt. Witnesses observed the reckless driving behaviour of the woman in question, who later crashed her vehicle into a traffic island on Rue Durenthal. A subsequent alcohol test came back positive, which is why officers revoked her license.
